Frit-Coated Glass

Glasplex frit-coated glass is a highly decorative architectural glass produced using advanced screen-printing technology, where one or more layers of inorganic glaze are applied to the glass surface. Through baking, tempering, or semi-tempering, the glaze is permanently fused, creating a durable, acid- and alkali-resistant finish with stable, long-lasting colours.

Glass Structure:

Single-pane glass
Maximum Size: 2440 × 3660 mm
Thickness Range: 3–25 mm

Key Features

Highly Decorative:
Customisable patterns and colours allow designers to create unique visual effects. Colours are stable and long-lasting thanks to inorganic glaze, maintaining the original tone for the life of the building.

Enhanced Safety:
Tempering or semi-tempering enhances strength and impact resistance. Frit-coated glass can also be laminated for extra wind pressure resistance and improved safety performance.

Effective Sun-Shading:
Frit patterns reflect and absorb sunlight, reducing heat gain. Shading coefficient (Sc) varies with coverage: ~0.32 for full coverage, ~0.66 for 50% coverage.

Anti-Glare Performance:
Patterned frit reduces glare from direct sunlight and afternoon sun, improving visual comfort indoors.

Lightweight & Easy to Install:
A lighter alternative to stone or ceramic façades, reducing structural load and simplifying installation while delivering a premium aesthetic.

Typical Applications

Exterior Architectural Glazing: Curtain walls, façades, and daylighting canopies.

Interior Spaces: Decorative partitions, feature walls, and office dividers.

High-Design Projects: Commercial buildings, hotels, and museums where both aesthetics and performance are essential.
